The deal in plain English: our bill reviews are free to you, we get paid by the provider if you switch, and the contract for your new deal is between you and them, not us.
This website is operated by BILL BOFFIN LIMITED, a company registered in England and Wales under number 17316944, based in Bradford, United Kingdom. You can reach us at hello@billboffin.co.uk or on 01274 911249.
By using this website or asking us for a bill review, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service. How we handle your information is set out separately in our Privacy & Cookies policy.
We review household bills, currently gas, electricity, broadband, mobile, TV and water. A boffin will call you, go through what you are paying now, look at what else is available and tell you whether you could do better. If you want to switch, we help you arrange it.
That is it. We are an introducer. We are not your energy supplier, your broadband company or your mobile network, and we are not their agent.
The review is free and always will be. You never pay Bill Boffin anything, at any point, whether you switch or not.
When you switch to a deal we have recommended, the new provider pays us a commission or referral fee. We are a publisher on affiliate networks including Awin and CJ Affiliate, and we have direct arrangements with some providers.
Two things follow from that, and we would rather say them out loud:
If you ever want to know whether we are paid for a particular recommendation, ask. We will tell you.
Bill Boffin is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We do not deal in insurance, credit, loans, mortgages, debt advice or investments, and nothing we say is regulated financial advice.
What we give you is information and a recommendation about consumer utility contracts, so you can make your own decision. The decision to switch, and the contract you sign, are yours.
Any saving we quote is an estimate. It depends on the information you give us, your actual usage, the tariff you are on now, your contract end date and prices that can change between us quoting and you signing. Figures on this website are illustrative and are not a promise of what you personally will save.
We are careful, but we take our information about tariffs and availability from providers and comparison sources. We cannot guarantee it is complete or up to date at the moment you act on it.
To do this properly we need you to:
If you give us someone else's details, you confirm you have their permission to do so.
We will never switch anything without your clear go ahead, and we will always tell you which provider we are passing your details to before we do it.
Once a switch is arranged, your contract is with the new provider. They are responsible for supplying the service, billing you, honouring the price and handling anything that goes wrong with it. Your cancellation and cooling off rights come from that contract and from consumer law, and you exercise them with them, not with us.
We are not responsible for a provider's pricing, service quality, outages, billing errors or for a switch they delay or refuse. If one goes wrong, tell us anyway. We will help you chase it because that is the job, but the legal responsibility sits with them.
The content, branding, owl and design of this site belong to Bill Boffin Limited or our licensors. You may look at it, print it and share links to it. You may not copy it, republish it or use it commercially without our permission.
We try to keep the site up and accurate but we do not promise it will always be available or error free, and we may change or withdraw any part of it. Where we link to other websites, we do not control them and we are not responsible for their content.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
Subject to that, and because our service is provided to you free of charge:
You can walk away at any time, before or after a review, with no cost and no obligation. Just tell us and we will stop. We may also decline or stop providing the service, for example if we cannot help with your situation or if the service is being misused.
Email hello@billboffin.co.uk or call 01274 911249. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 20. If your complaint is about the provider you switched to, their own complaints process and, where it applies, the relevant ombudsman scheme such as the Energy Ombudsman or the Communications Ombudsman, will be the route to resolve it.
Complaints about how we have handled your personal data are covered in our Privacy & Cookies policy.
We may update these terms. The version on this page at the time you use the service is the one that applies, so it is worth a look if you come back to us later.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there.
